Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Error at Smarts Network Configuration Manager (Smarts NCM) Login:

An unexpected problem as occurred. Please contact EMC Customer Support

Received the following error message in the Smarts NCM log file:

java.rmi.AccessException: SecurityException; nested exception is:
java.lang.SecurityException: Authentication exception, principal=0a86ab8bf9bbe33fb12d2b383e010000##admin
at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.LogInterceptor.handleException(LogInterceptor.java:388)

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

Incorrect password supplied while trying to log into NCM application.

Resolution

Check and make sure your entering the correct password or username for NCM.
