Remedy generated from a RegEx test for Smarts NCM repeats multiple times

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

The versions of Smarts NCM listed above do not manage a remedy generated from a RegEx test correctly when the variables defined in the stanza filters are used in the remedy string.

Resolution

EMC is evaluating the requirements to address this issue in an upcoming Smarts NCM release. For the latest information, contact EMC Customer Support Services (CSS) for Smarts NCM through the EMC Online Support site (http://support.emc.com) or by phone, and reference this solution ID. Until a fix is available, environments encountering this issue can use the following workaround.

Workaround
As a work around for this issue, do the following:

1. Test by not using variable (defined in stanza filters) in the remedy.
2. Hard code the vty number in the remedy text.
