Issue/Introduction

As a response to the growing complexity of our portfolio, VMware is streamlining and simplifying it’s portfolio.

To accomplish this first step in simplification, VMware is announcing the End of Availability of the following VMware Cloud Foundation SKUs:
 

VCF-S SKUs: 

VCF-S Starter 
VCF-S STD
VCF-S ADV 
VCF-S ENT 
VCF-S STD Without vSAN For External Storage 
VCF-S ADV Without vSAN For External Storage 
VCF-S ENT Without vSAN For External Storage 
 

VCF+ SKUs:

VCF+ STD  
VCF+ ADV 
VCF+ ENT 
VCF+ STD With External Storage 
VCF+ ADV With External Storage 
VCF+ ENT With External Storage 

The above list of SKUs will not be available for any customers to purchase as of August 5, 2023. These will be replaced by the VMware Cloud Packs, which were announced on April 5, 2023 and will serve as the upgrade or replacement options.

Resolution

If you are an existing customer and purchased the above VCF-S, VCF+ SKUs, but are not up for renewal there is no immediate action required at this time and VMware will continue to offer active support through the duration of your Support contract.  

However, in the future, at the time of renewal, you will be offered an upgrade path to VMware Cloud Packs (available in connected or disconnected versions).
