NSX plugin fails to load in vSphere Web Client

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• After registering a new NSX manager to vCenter, the NSX plugin is not available in the vSphere Web Client.
• The registration to vCenter and SSO is successful, the NSX Manager is a new installation, i.e. not upgraded from VCNS/NSX
• There is a firewall deployed between NSX Manager and vCenter.

Resolution

• When the firewall is not permitting the https access from the vCenter to the NSX Manager, the download of the plugin fails.
• Even after changing the corresponding firewall rules no further attempts to download the plugin are performed by vCenter 6.
• To resolve this issue, enable the firewall rules and restart the vSphere client service on the vCenter appliance by running the command:

service-control --stop|start vsphere-client
