Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When upgrading the Service mesh appliances (IX and NE) you receive the following error:

UpgradeAppliance Failed. Reason: Interconnect Service Workflow InterconnectRedeploy failed.

Error: ["Interconnect Service Workflow ApplianceLifecycleJob failed. Error: [\" Deploy and Configuration of Interconnect Appliances Failed. Interconnect Service Workflow DeployAppliance failed. Where datastore- xxx indicates a datastore used as part of the compute profile.

Resolution

To resolve this issue edit the Compute Profile as follows.Select the Deployment Resource Pools:
  • Click the Select Resource drop-down menu.
  • Select each cluster or resource pool to be used when deploying HCX Interconnect appliances.
  • Click the Select Datastore drop-down menu.
  • Select the datastore to be used when deploying HCX Interconnect appliances
  • If the correct datastores are indicated, de-select and re-select them again.
  •

Next Step - Go to Interconnect > Multi-Site Service Mesh > Service Mesh.
  • Click RESYNC.
Verify that the changes appear in the Compute Profile though the HCX Interconnect interface UI

Attempt the upgrade of the Service mesh appliances again.
