Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

If you are using a Hewlett Packard system equipped with a Smart Array P212, P400, P400i, P410, P410i, P411, and P712m controller, you may experience these symptoms:

• Your ESX host may stop responding.
• Your ESX host may not respond to external network traffic.
• Your ESX host may not respond to commands at the local console.

Resolution

This is an issue with firmware version 2.00 for the Smart Array P212, P410, P410i, P411, and P712m controllers on Hewlett Packard systems.

This issue is resolved in firmware version 2.50 of the storage controller. For more information, contact Hewlett Packard support or consult the firmware update release notes.

There is a similar issue with the Smart Array P400 and P400i array firmware up to version 7.18.

The issue with the P400 array is resolved with firmware version 7.22 (which ships with HP Firmware DVD 9.30 or later). For more information, contact Hewlett Packard support or consult the firmware update release notes.
