Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Operations. Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:

To work around this issue:

If the cluster consists of multiple nodes:

  1. Use a 3rd party SCP utility such as WinSCP (https://winscp.net/eng/download.php) or FileZilla (https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client) to connect to another node in the cluster as root
  2. Copy the /etc/vmware/.buildInfo file to your local workstation
  3. Connect to the node(s) with the missing file, and copy the .buildInfo file from your workstation to  /etc/vmware/ directory
  4. From SSH on the node(s) you've copied the file to, run the command service vmware-casa restart
  5. Reload the admin UI to validate that the node(s) in question has the correct build number displayed
  6. Re-attempt the upgrade
