Performing a reprotect operation in vCenter Site Recovery Manager fails with NetApp FAS/V-Series (SRA) Version 2.0.x

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Performing a reprotect operation in vCenter Site Recovery Manger (SRM) fails on a NetApp FAS/V-Series (SRA) Version 2.0.x.
• On the graphical user interface, you see errors similar to
  
  Error - Cannot protect virtual machine 'SRM-TEST' because its config file '[test_srm] SRM-TEST/SRM-TEST.vmx' is located on a non-replicated or non-protected datastore.
  
• The vmware-dr.log contains entries similar to:

Cause

This issue occurs during a reprotect operation, if vCenter Site Recovery Manager runs the discover devices operation before a SnapMirror resynchronization operation is complete. The SRA does not report the current state of some of the devices that are in a transferring state and the reprotect operation fails.

Resolution

To work around this issue, perform these steps:

1. Wait for the SnapMirror resynchronization to complete.
2. In vCenter Site Recovery Manager, click Array Managers.
3. Click Discover Devices to verify if the discovery of devices completes on the source and destination.
4. Start a new Reprotect operation.
