Cause

This issue occurs due to an incorrect system date and the local user's locale is set to Thailand time when executing the installer.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vCenter Server 5.1 Update 1, see the VMware vCenter Server 5.1 Update 1 Release Notes. You can download the latest release from the VMware Download Center.
To work around the issue if you are unable to upgrade, change the system local time to United States.

To change the system local time to United States:
  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Region & Language > Location.
  2. Change the system local time to United States.

Note: This sets the system clock to the Gregorian calendar.
Note: The preceding link was correct as of September 13, 2013. If you find the link is broken, provide feedback and a VMware employee will update the link.
