How to Set up Remote Virtual Inventory ?
During the install you have to select Remote Virtualization Inventory (RVI) for the machine that will do the scan.
This will create the Collect tasks that you need in the later steps.
RVI plugin could also be installed after using the SD Package "CA DSM Agent AM RVI plugin *"
Create a New Collect Tasks from the Domain Manager Agent
Select Virtual Host Inventory
Give the Collect Task a Name
Add a Task
Add the information for the machine you want to collect from:
(Remote Virtual Inventory requires root access just like a regular agent)
When the Asset Management Agent on the machine (you created the RVI task for) runs, it will run the RVI task and will collect from the remote machines.
