Warning: "Too large clock skew was detected" during performing vMotion task in vCenter Server

Issue/Introduction

Attempting vMotion, the following warning message is seen - "Too large clock skew was detected"

Environment

• VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
• VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

Either the source or the destination host does not have the NTP configured.

Resolution

1. Verify that NTP is configured on both source and destination ESXi hosts and ensure the configurations are consistent.
   
   
2. If NTP is not configured, follow the below KB to configure NTP:
   Configuring Network Time Protocol (NTP) on an ESXi host using the vSphere Client
   
   
3. If the issue persists, restart the ntpd service  by running the below command on ESXi hosts:
   # /etc/init.d/ntpd restart
