How does Smarts Network Configuration Manager (Smarts NCM) compose the UID for a generic device?
All supported NCM versions
When a device is not certified in Smarts NCM, it will not be discovered. However, if you have generic device managed, when these devices are discovered, they are discovered as generic device. By default a generic device does not use a specific device driver. It will use the SysName of the device as the UID value until a specific certified or custom driver is loaded and the device is rediscovered.
