VMware is announcing the End of Availability (EOA) of vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps, effective from April 12, 2018. The current version of this management pack (2.2.1) will not be qualified with VMware vRealize Automation 7.4 and VMware vRealize Code Stream 2.4 and beyond. Existing customers can continue to use VMware vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps beyond the End of Availability and receive customer support until the End of Support date December 31, 2018. After December 31, 2018, customers won’t be able to receive support for the vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps.

vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager (vRSLCM) provides the same abilities for capturing, versioning, and deploying your vRealize Suite Content. Current supported endpoints for this content management system within vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager include vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, and Source Control Management system (GitLab). In addition, vRSLCM provides new functionality for check-in/check-out content as code to and from GitLab. Code reviews, merging can be performed as part of the content development process on GitLab.
Is there any reason to continue using the vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps?
Currently vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager (vRSLCM) provides support for vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator content. If there is a need to continue capturing content for vRealize Operations, vCloud Director, or vSphere content, then the vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps will need to be used (at version vRA 7.3 or earlier) until those endpoints are supported in vRSLCM.
Is there a migration or upgrade path to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager?
There is no migration or upgrade path to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. However, the same content that was being managed via the vRealize Code Stream Management Pack for IT DevOps can be easily recaptured using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 1.2. Content that had been previously captured with the Management Pack (along with all previous versions and history) can be preserved inside of vRealize Automation.
