Issue/Introduction

How to use the SYSPARMS RESCOPYT and RESCOPYS?
A user setup a restore with RESCOPYTY and RESCOPYSP. The COPY volume was off-site at the vault and the PRIM was NOT disabled.

Resolution

Specify a value of Y to instruct Disk to use the duplicate copy tapes for all data set restores, including volume recovery. Specify a value of T to instruct Disk to use the tertiary copy tapes for all data set restores, including volume recovery. Default processing calls for the primary archive tape unless it has been disabled. Setting this to a value of Y or T for Disaster Recovery forces the use of the off-site tapes.
Note: Use caution when specifying this sysparm with a value of Y or T during an FMS RECOVER job. Doing so may result in a subset of your data being recovered. Normally this sysparm would be used for Disaster Recovery to force the use of the off-site tapes.
