FC HBAs not detected on upgrading to ESXi 6.0 U3 or installing Qlogic 2.1.50

Issue/Introduction

16G and 32G Qlogic FC HBAs with PCI device IDs 0x2071 and 0x2261 are not detected after upgrading to ESXi 6.0 U3.

Environment

ESXi 6.0

Cause

HBA device IDs are not available in the inbox driver.

Resolution

• Uninstall the 2.1.50.0 inbox version of Qlogic driver and install the latest async driver.
   
  • Download and install async drivers signed by VMware.
