Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Transit networks are the networks that interconnect NSX networking components.

Transit network addresses are no longer from the RFC 6598 Carrier Grade Network Address Translation space of 100.64.0.0/10. Transit network addresses will be allocated from the RFC 3927 Link Local IPv4 address space.

Resolution

Workaround: Transit networks may be observed in traceroute, Traceflow, or other path analysis tools. SDDC 1.22 and higher will no longer use 100.64.0.0/10 space for transit networks but rather will use 169.254.0.0/16 addresses.

New SDDCs deployed with 1.22 or higher will automatically use the new addressing scheme. SDDCs being upgraded from previous releases to 1.22 will automatically have their transit networks changed from the 100.64.0.0/10 space to the 169.254.0.0/16 space with no intervention required by the user
