1. While upgrading Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated by using Management Console (TKGIMC), you see the following error on the UI.
"invalid Ops Manager VM MoID"
2. Checking pks-mgmt-server container log (docker logs pks-mgmt-server) in TKGIMC VM, you see the following error log.
pks-mgmt-server[1119]: time="2025-03-01T02:01:41Z" level=info msg="Ops manager will be deployed on IP ###.###.###.### \n, "
pks-mgmt-server[1119]: time="2025-03-01T02:01:41Z" level=error msg="Automator (Deploy ops-manager 3.0.41+LTS-T) failed: invalid Ops Manager VM MoID\n"
pks-mgmt-server[1119]: time="2025-03-01T02:01:41Z" level=info msg="Update for deployment #### - Deploy ops-manager 3.0.41+LTS-T: state( failed) invalid Ops Manager VM MoID\n"
3. Check the Operations Manager VM name on TKGIMC UI and in vCenter, you see different names.
It is caused by Operations Manager VM name mismatch between in TKGIMC and vSphere. The VM might be renamed on vSphere, TKGIMC relies on the name for getting MoID.
If you renamed the Operations Manager VM on vSphere and it is now different from the name on TKGIMC, please name it back to the one as you see on TKGIMC and continue the upgrade.
