Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Operations Manager is unable to connect when attempting to deploy PKS Operations Manager while using the FQDN or IP address of vCenter and while using the port other than the default 443.

It gives the following error:

Error Message:

Could not connect to vCenter IP: Failed to open TCP connection to <vcenter>.domain.com:
<custom port>:443 (getaddrinfo: No address associated with hostname)
All errors will be reverified before installation.

Environment

Cause

This issue is caused by the Pivotal Operations Manager. It requires that the default port is used for the BOSH configuration. BOSH assumes that the port 443 will be used at all times and will append it to any attempted connection out to vCenter.

Resolution

This is a known issue - there is no resolution or workaround at this time.
