Issue/Introduction

For Tanzu PCF on AWS, how can we upgrade our disks from gp2 to gp3, so that we can achieve the performance improvements and cost savings available with this disk type?

Environment

Product Version: 2.13

Resolution

In the Release Notes for Ops Manager, we can see that this feature was added in version 2.10.19:

v2.10.19

Release Date: October 12, 2021

  • [Feature] Operators can choose between gp2 and gp3 for the default AWS disk type.
To change the disk type:

Login to OpsManager UI --> BOSH Director on AWS Tile --> AWS Config Page --> modify the AWS EBS disk type: Select the type of EBS volume for BOSH-deployed VMs to use.

Warning: If you change this value, BOSH re-creates all VMs when you apply changes.

Details can be refer to doc - https://docs.pivotal.io/ops-manager/2-10/aws/config-manual.html#pcfaws-om-awsconfig.
