Duplicate applications in Tanzu Application Service for VMs created with AppDynamics

Issue/Introduction

A customer deployed applications (apps) to one foundation with the same names used for those apps in another foundation. Applications were created in AppDynamics with single quotes. They added an environment variable so that the AppDynamics names were appended with the foundation name.

Then they had 3 applications in AppDynamics: perf:osms-orderservice 'perf:osms-orderservice' eastperf:osms-orderservice. They tried deleting the app with single quotes from AppDynamics and redeployed it, but AppDynamics recreates the app with single quotes instead of publishing to perf:osms-orderservice.

Resolution

Java Buildpack 4.33 update solves the issue. For more information, refer to: https://pivotal-io.atlassian.net/browse/JBP-10.

Customers using AppDynamics who are also using JBP prior to v4.33 should upgrade.
