Deployment of VMware Tanzu MySQL for VMs fails due to the adbr-api

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to install or upgrade MySQL for VMs version 2.9.*, the dedicated MySQL broker VM fails to update with:

 L Error: 'dedicated-mysql-broker/xxxxx (0)' is not running after update. Review logs for failed jobs: adbr-api

             
Looking at the adbr-api.stderr.log file in the directory /var/vcap/sys/log/adbr-api shows:

[ERROR] 2021/01/13 12:55:19 main.go:91: failed to create storage provider client: failed to build scp: failed to parse private key: ssh: no key found

Product Version: 2.9

Resolution

This issue is caused by an error in the configuration of the SCP backup for MySQL. Specifically, it is an issue with the Private Key field. To resolve this, navigate to the Backups page of the tile. Verify that the Private Key you have entered is:
 

• A valid private key for the destination VM you have provided in the Hostname field.
• Formatted correctly in the text field.
