"/proc/sys/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_max: No such file or directory" error after rep process fails to start and diego_cell in failing state in Tanzu Application Service for VMs 2.6

Issue/Introduction

The diego_cell is in failing state and the rep process won't start.

After reviewing the log files under /var/vcap/sys/log/rep, you find the following error in rep.stderr.log:

/proc/sys/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_max: No such file or directory

Environment

Product Version: 2.6

Resolution

This is a known issue that is fixed since Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS for VMs) 2.7.

To work around this issue, run the following commands in the diego_cell:

1. sudo modprobe nf_conntrack

2. sudo monit restart rep
