COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS Common Services

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to start ENF but receiving the following message:

*CAS9202E - CA-ENF REQUIRED MODULE NOT FOUND -- CAS9EVT.

I have defined CAW0LOAD to the STEPLIB concatenation, and see that module CAS9EVT is present in this library. So why can it not be found?

Environment

Release: CA90SV00200-15.0-Common Services-for z/OS
Component: ENF

Cause

The most likely problem is that older CA Common Services modules are being picked up either from steplib or the linklist

Resolution

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-mainframe-software/traditional-management/ca-common-services-for-z-os/15-0.htmlA  back-leveled version of module CAS9LPAM is being picked up. This will directly impact how CCS modules are loaded.

As documented, the CAW0LINK library must be apf-authorized and must defined to the system linklist. In addition, this library must be defined ahead of any library containing older releases of CA Common Services. It is advisable that any library containing older common services modules be removed from the linklist to avoid the possibility of introducing a "mixed-module" environment.

Additional Information

Review the APF and Linklist requirements for the  BASE and, if installed, the LEGACY target Libraries in the Common Services r15.0 online documentation.
See the steps listed in technical document 21145 for the steps you can take to see if there is an older Common Services library, or libraries, ahead of the correct r15.0 CCS in linklist.
