Tanzu Application Platform (TAP) - Cloud-specific FAQ (GKE auto-scaling, EKS NLB)

 

To help make TAP installation and configuration experience as simple as possible, R&D team compiled a list of most frequently asked questions.

1. EKS NLB

• Review the instructions outlined in the Configure LoadBalancer for Contour Ingress document.
• Check your kubernetes services, in particular those that are of type "LoadBalancer". An NLB load balancer should be associated with tanzu-system-ingress's envoy service.

2. GKE - TAP install times out

• There is a known issue with GKE on auto-scaling the control plane. Given the nature of the reconciliation loop, you can wait until GKE scaling process is done and then the reconcile loop will apply the TAP packages. You could mitigate this by sizing the cluster up initially via a Regional (ass opposed to Zonal) cluster
