Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to view the TAS MySQL proxy's view of the MySQL Galera Cluster.

Environment

Cause

When problems occur within the TAS MySQL database, it is often useful to see the state of the MySQL Galera cluster from the point of view of the proxies.

Resolution

The TAS proxy dashboard, known as a switchboard, has displays which can be found at the following Pivotal Ops Manager URLs, assuming 2 TAS proxies:

https:// 0-proxy-p-mysql-ert.<System Domain>
https:// 1-proxy-p-mysql-ert.<System Domain>
  • <System Domain> is as defined on the TAS tile Domain tab.
When accessing these URLs, you will be prompted for credentials. While already logged into the Ops Manager, these credentials can be retrieved with the following URL:
https:// OPS-MAN-FQDN/api/v0/deployed/products/<PAS/ERT deployment>/variables?name=mysql-proxy-dashboard-credentials
  • OPS-MAN-FQDN is the Ops Manager fully qualified domain name and <PAS/ERT deployment> is the PAS/ERT cf-... deployment name.

The resulting dashboard will show where each router is sending MySQL traffic. It is expected that all routers will send all traffic to the same backend MySQL server instance. The display will look something like:
