VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs
Issue/Introduction
Customers using the NFS volume service and upgrading to VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS) v2.6.0 - v2.6.3 may see applications crashing after upgrading with the following error:
"exit_description"=>"failed to mount volume, errors: Not allowed options: experimental"
Resolution
This error is caused by a functional regression in nfs-volume-release that VMware has fixed in nfs-volume-release v2.2.3. This version is not yet in TAS, but should be in either 2.6.4 or 2.6.5. Check the release notes to confirm the version where this is fixed.
Until the hotfix is available, the best workaround after upgrade to is to unbind and rebind the service, and then restart the application. This will create a new service binding that does not contain the “experimental” tag. It is not necessary to re-create the nfs service instance.
