Differences between HISRV 1.0 and 2.0 when upgrading include the following
In version 1.0, HISRV is packaged by itself as an individual component.
In version 2.0, HISRV and Linux Connector are packaged together under Common Services 14.0 (release date 11/17/2013).
HISRV 1.0 SMP/E installs the following datasets
hlq.HI10.CC2DJCL
hlq.HI10.CC2DLINK
hlq.HI10.CC2DLOAD
hlq.HI10.CC2DXML
HISRV 2.0 SMPE installs the following datasets
--Allocated with members--
hlq.CC2DJCL
hlq.CC2DLINK
hlq.CC2DLOAD
hlq.CC2DXML
--Allocated but empty--
hlq.CC2DLMD0
hlq.CC2DLPA
hlq.CC2DMAC
hlq.CC2DSAMP
The empty data sets are due to the addition of Linux Connector in the packaging.
They are allocated but remain empty as they are not used by HISRV.
So there really are no changes to the number of datasets used by HISRV in R2.0.
The documentation in HISRV 1.0 is contained in one product manual.
The documentation for HISRV 2.0 is divided up into multiple locations:
- Common Services 14.1 Installation Guide
- Common Services 14.1 Reference Guide
- OPS/MVS product manuals
These were available in 1.0
FSTOP - Stops the service.
SHOW HWIUSERS - Lists the users of the service.
STATUS - Displays the status of the service.
This was added in 2.0
SHOW HWITOP - Displays the current topology.
These are new in 2.0
HWISAFCL=resource_class_name
HWISAFPF=prefix
For HISRV 2.0 please review the security section starting on page 411 in the Common Services Installation Guide 14.1. Please be sure to use the latest manual available on the web as the Common Services manual is frequently updated.
There may be changes to the first sections regarding security, especially if you are using RACF.
Multiple new sections were added to authorize users for various functions. Please review and implement these sections. Please note that our examples assume that you have defined the new parameters HWISAFCL and HWISAFPF with the values we recommend. Several customers have hit problems by not having these parameters in the HISPRM.
