Issue/Introduction

  • This article applies to standalone Greenplum Magic Tool (GPMT) v1.3.0 only.
  • GPMT has been included as part of the Greenplum installation since versions 5.28.0 and 6.16.0.
  • The tool has been renamed to gpsupport in Greenplum 7.x

Greenplum Version: 6.15 and above

Resolution

GPMT (Greenplum Magic Tool) provides the following

  • A rich set of diagnostic utilities which can be used to quickly troubleshoot and resolve common support-ability issues.
  • A consistent method for gathering required support information from user systems. 

Information gathering is simple and painless, the required diagnostics to complete a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) are available. 
 

Installation

  • GPMT is included as part of the Greenplum installation since versions 5.28.0 and 6.16.0.
  • Please contact Tanzu Support if you need to install GPMT on Greenplum versions prior to versions 5.28.0 and 6.16.0.

How to run GPMT

The GPMT utility is now available as a part of the Tanzu Greenplum product. Please refer to the official GPMT documentation.

In case of any issues running GPMT, please provide the recent GPMT log files (with verbose logging) /tmp/gp-magic-tool.<timestamp>.log to Tanzu support.
