Issue/Introduction

Error messages in the master log:

could not receive data from client: Connection reset by peer

and/or

unexpected EOF on client connection

Environment

Product Version: 4.3.33

Resolution

Errors like "could not receive data from client: Connection reset by peer" and "unexpected EOF on client connection" are due to the client losing connection to the master.

It is possibly due to the client application suddenly quitting or crashing before closing the connection to the DB or possibly due to network connectivity issues.

The messages do not indicate an issue with the Greenplum Database.
