Issue/Introduction

The installation script for Greenplum Command Center fails with the error message "data directory has not been set".

The error refers to the environment variables MASTER_DATA_DIRECTORY and COORDINATOR_DATA_DIRTECTORY.

In the newer releases of Greenplum software packages, for example Greenplum Database(GPDB), Greenplum Command Center (GPCC), the environment variable MASTER_DATA_DIRECTORY has been renamed to COORDINATOR_DATA_DIRECTORY.
Depending on the versions of the different software installed it may be necessary to set both environment variables in the .bashrc file for gpadmin user.
Both environment variables should be set to the same value.

Environment

Product Version: 6.25

Resolution

Greenplum Command Center being installed is 6.9.x or later

Ensure MASTER_DATA_DIRECTORY is set in .bashrc of the gpadmin user.

Greenplum Command Center being installed is 6.8.x or earlier

Ensure COORDINATOR_DATA_DIRECTORY is set in .bashrc of the gpadmin user.
