Issue/Introduction

When the segment servers in a new cluster have more than one IP that will be used in the interconnect, gpinitsystem will incorrectly set the "hostname" value for the primary segments in the gp_segment_configuration table. This can cause errors when running "gppkg" utility to install Greenplum packages. The error message similar to:

Resolution

Workaround:
After the gpinitsystem is finidhed, manually set the "hostname" in the "gp_segment_configuration" table for each segment to the correct value. This will need to be done by Greenplum Support.

Fixed in Greenplum 6.23.0
