pg_dump reports error "aborting because of server version mismatch"

Environment

Product Version: 6.4

Resolution

The pg_dump binary provided in the earlier versions of 6.x is based on the incorrect version of PostreSQL.
Upgrade to the latest 6.x supported version.

It is not possible to use pg_dump from Greenplum 5.x to backup Greenplum 6.x.
Need to use pg_dump provided with the Greenplum version running on the cluster.
