Error with Replication from DD to DD Replica using DDBoost

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

You receive an error when replicating from DD to DD Replica using DDBoost:

Initiating transfer for 73 files from local(datadbuf001) to remote(dataddr001) Data Domain. 
Using at the most 10 I/O streams on each Data Domain.

Environment

Cause

If you disable DDR replication, it is automatically writeable. When DDR Replication is enabled, only DD can write. The replication strategy determines who is allowed to write to the directory.

Resolution 

• You may select either DDR Replication or MFR (ddboost) Replication, not both.
• You have to disable DDR replication if you want to use DDBoost.
• You cannot have the Data Domain managing a backup, then manually copy a DDBoost backup. The Data Domain either replicates the backup directory, or you have to manage it manually using gpcrondump --ddboost.
