In case the CIC component is not properly installed below could be one of the causes:

- If the config.xml file has a size equal to 0 KB

Resolution

You can try to reinstall the CIC component applying the below steps:

1. Uninstall CIC from Add Remove programs.

2. Delete the SC\CIC directory if there are still references after the uninstall.

3. Delete the following registry keys:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ComputerAssociates\CIC

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_{FA98151D-89CE-4241-AFEA-C81B545DD95D}

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\D15189AFEC981424FAAE8CB145D59DD5

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\D15189AFEC981424FAAE8CB145D59DD5

4. Run SetupCIC.exe from the WindowsProductFiles_x86\CIC folder available in the Client Automation DVD 1 image.

Once the reinstallation is completed other activities are requested to test the CIC functionalities. Please refer to the technical document below to learn more about it.
