What is the maximum number of active generations of an application?

Issue/Introduction

When the number of active generations reached 250, the following warning messages are issued, and processing continued.

ESP4175W APPLICATION xx, User yy, IS REACHING THE LIMIT OF ACTIVE GENERATIONS
ESP4174W APPLICATION xx GENERATION nn, User yy, WILL BE FORCED COMPLETE BY ESP

Resolution

When this occurs, the forced completed jobs/applications will still show in the scoreboards with status "FORCED**/Force pending ***",
and they cannot be updated or deleted.  They are removed after WA ESP restarted.

If there's a need to run many generations concurrently in a short period of time, consider using a dynamic APPL name.

Example:

   APPL%ESPSSS  or APPL%ESPSTH      (Symbolic variable ESPSSS contains the number of seconds; ESPSTH contains the number of hundredths of a second.)
