This issue is applicable to all versions of VMware Tanzu Gemfire.
The VMware Tanzu Gemfire service plans you choose determines how memory is allocated to the VMware Tanzu Gemfire processes. One consideration is how much memory is available in each VM. Memory allocation depends on whether a plan is colocated or non-colocated.
The server heap is reduced to accommodate the Anti-Virus and File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) VMware Tanzu add-ons, if they are present. For more information, refer to the following documentation: https://docs.pivotal.io/p-cloud-cache/1-9/memory-allocation.html
Here are some recommendations, if you have insufficient heap after installing Anti-virus Software:
1. Select a bigger service plan for VMware Tanzu Gemfire, based on your memory requirements.
2. Set the memory limit for the Anti-virus and FIM, to reduce their memory footprint, if required:
a. Check the memory footprint for the Add-ons, on the VMs, using Linux commands like "ps
".
b. If needed, configure both FIM and ClamAV to use less memory footprint using the “Max memory usage
” field. Please refer to the following links for more details:
