Does CA Spool provide any transformers to work with Xerox Metacode as there are for processing AFP data ?

Yes, starting with CA Spool r11.7 the CA Spool Java Transformers allow for Xerox Metacode transformations.

Available transformers options for Metacode are:

Metacode to PCL
Metacode to PDF

Metacode to Postscript

 

Each of the components above are licensed software and can be purchased separately.

Additionally, there are a couple of other options you may want to consider:

1. You have the ability to print true Metacode files with the use of the XEROX XPAF Functional Subsystem. They are not transformed. XPAF uses the CA Spool FSS interface, also known as the PSF option. Depending on the type of license you have for CA Spool, the PSF option may be a separately licensed option requiring its own LMP key. Using the FSS interface, these printers can be managed like any other printer in your environment through a common menu interface.
2. If your data is line mode data with embedded DJDE's, the LCDS TCP/IP print driver will deliver your data in Xerox's LCDS format. The target printer must be a printer that is expecting this format, such as Xerox's DocuSP family of printers.
