Issue/Introduction

GemFire XD (GFXD), like SQLFire before it, is based on GemFire and Apache Derby. By basing GFXD on Apache Derby it inherits any limitiations in Derby.

GFXD does not support TIME_ZONE for TIME or TIMESTAMP fields. That is a limitation which is inherited from Derby as can be seen here.
