Ops Manager Upgrade process having issues importing the installation.zip file

Issue/Introduction

Below error message is received when importing the Ops Manager installation.zip file.

Import failure [Tried to load unspecified class: ActionController::Parameters]

 

A bug was introduced in a recent few versions of Ops Manager, affected versions range from v3.0.0 to v3.0.10.
The issue has been fixed in v3.0.11 and subsequent versions.

Upgrading to the fixed version of the Ops Manager ensures that the bug no longer affects the upgrade/import process.

 

 

Additional details: 

When attempting to import the Ops Manager exported file, the ActionController Parameters objects stored in the database are unable to be interpreted.

Resolution

There are two solutions to this issue:

• Upgrading the Ops Manager to version 3.0.11 or a later release.
• Revert back to the same version of the Ops Manager from which the file was exported.
