Telemetry-collector pre-start after upgrade to Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.3

Issue/Introduction

If you have recently upgraded from Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.2 (or lower) to Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.3 or are using Telemetry-Collector CLI 1.1.5, then you are affected by a known issue with Ops Manager CLI 7.0 which is packaged with Telemetry-Collector CLI 1.1.5 and Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.3.

Error: Action Failed get_task: Task 638f5655-7aab-4347-522c-3e52b9294ab2 result: 1 of 3 pre-start scripts failed. Failed Jobs: telemetry-collector. Successful Jobs: bpm, bosh-dns.

The pre-start script for the telemetry-collector job fails during an Apply Changes or deployment of the telemetry tile with a timeout error when making a request to Operations Manager (Ops Manager) API endpoint, /api/v0/installations, to collect data.

In /var/vcap/sys/log/telemetry-collector/pre-start.stderr.log you will see the following error:

Error: Failed collecting from Operations Manager: Failed retrieving ops_manager deployed_products: Failed GET /api/v0/deployed/products: failed submitting request: Get "https://OPS_MANGER_IP/api/v0/deployed/products": net/http: request canceled (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.4 or Telemetry-Collector CLI 1.1.6. Upgrade to Telemetry for VMware Tanzu [VMs] 1.1.4 or Telemetry-Collector CLI 1.1.6 to resolve this issue.
