Issue/Introduction

When attempting to create a service instance of a tile, it fails with an error similar to below:
Server error, status code: 502, error code: 10001, message: Service broker error: plan instance limit exceeded for service ID: <Service_ID>. Total instances: X

Environment

Product Version: Other

Resolution

This error is caused when the number of service instances created in the foundation exceeds the quota assigned to that particular service plan.

There are two options to resolve this:

1. Delete any unused service instances using the plan.

Important: Please make sure the services are unused before deleting, and backup any data before deletion. Once you delete a service instance, it cannot be recovered.

2. Increase the quota for that plan. The configuration for this is typically located in Ops Manager > Service Tile > Plans. Increasing the Plan Quota field and running Apply Changes will allow you to create more service instances for that plan.
