Issue/Introduction

Ops Manager 2.10.33 allows uploading of tiles that require Ubuntu Jammy stemcells. The purpose of this is to enable development teams to use Ops Manager to test their tiles to start working towards compatibility with the official Jammy stemcell release later in 2022.

At this time, this change is meant only for development testing and not customer consumption.

Apply changes and BOSH operations may show the following in BOSH diff output after upgrading:

- name: bosh-dns
   include:
      stemcell:
      + - os: ubuntu-jammy

Environment

Product Version: 2.10

Resolution

These messages about ubuntu-jammy can be safely ignored, even if an operator has never uploaded or used ubuntu-jammy stemcells before.

In order to support uploading Jammy stemcells on Ops Manager 2.10, the runtime configs (including BOSH DNS) needed to be updated to also place jobs on any VMs deployed with the ubuntu-jammy stemcell. This was done ahead of time to enable tile development teams to start testing with Jammy, and prep for when Jammy-based tiles are released later this year.

This allows operators to upload a Jammy stemcell (they are not publicly available on TanzuNet but OSS ones are listed on bosh.io), but there are no tiles that support Jammy yet, so it would never be in use. The diff is strictly about runtime configs.
