Operations Manager SSH Banner Text Area Looks Different in Terminal

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

A new feature allows users to create an ssh banner for the Operations Manager Virtual Machine (VM) and the BOSH Deployed Virtual Machines (VMs). The text entered in the text area box will not look like what the user will see when connecting via ssh to the Operations Manager VM or a Bosh Deployed VM.

Environment

Cause

There is a known issue with the Operations Manager UI that does not display a space character length equal to an ASCII or numerical character. This will result in space characters appearing shorter in the Operations Manager Web interface than a terminal window.

 

Resolution

Create the SSH banner in your favorite text editor and copy/paste the completed version into the text area presented in the Operations Manager Web Interface.
