Issue/Introduction

Application deployed in tcServer fails. Found error from tcServer logs.

[${db.password}] java.lang.RuntimeException: Prefix for s2enc://xyzxyzXyz is no longer supported.

which is confirmed from catalina.properties

catalina.properties:db.password=s2enc://xyzxyzXyz

Product Version: 4.1

Resolution

The use of "s2enc" and "tcenc" for property obfuscation have been removed as of tcServer 4.1.x.

Please use "pbkdf2" for new instances and consider migration to "pbkdf2" upon upgrades. Encode passwords by using "tcserver encode" and replaced them with "pbkdf2".
