App Control: How to Configure a Rapid Config With Policy Specific Settings

Issue/Introduction

How to customize a Rapid Config that applies different configurations for multiple policies.

Environment

• App Control Console: All Supported Versions

Resolution

1. In the App Control Console, navigate to Rules > Software Rules > Rapid Configs.
2. Click the View Details button next to the desired Rapid Config to edit.
3. Under the Rapid Config settings... section, edit the available settings group as needed.
4. In the Settings Apply To field, choose Selected Policies and check the desired Policies to receive that group of settings.
5. To create a new settings group for another group of Policies, click Add settings for additional policies.
6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 as many times as needed.
7. When finished, click the Save or Save & Exit button.

Additional Information

• Any policies covered by an existing settings group are not available when configuring a new settings group.
• If deleting a group of settings, select "Delete settings for these policies" in the Rapid Config details and save the change.
• Policies that are not selected by any settings group for a Rapid Config will not enforce the config at all.
• If the first settings group is applied to All policies, no additional settings groups can be added until select Policies are specified.
