Why is the User field on the Endpoints Page blank for Linux Sensors?

Environment

  • CB Defense: Linux Sensor 2.8.x
  • CentOS 6 & 7
  • RHEL 6 & 7

Resolution

  • The User field on the Endpoints page is typically populated by the email address of the user who installed the sensor on the endpoint.
  • We’ve intentionally left this field blank for Linux sensors because there can be multiple logged-in users and multiple simultaneous desktop
