Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint Standard (formerly Cb Defense)

Issue/Introduction

  • Carbon Black Console doesn’t let you save policy rule changes unless the action is toggled
    • e.g. Blocking and Isolation Policy: Terminate policy must be changed to deny, select "confirm", select "save" to save the policy. Once updated, the policy can be reverted back to terminate and vice versa.
    • e.g. Permission Policy: Performs any API operation Bypass policy must be changed to Performs any operation Bypass,  select "confirm", select "save" to save the policy. Once updated, the policy can be reverted back to Performs any API operation Bypass policy and vice versa.

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Console: October 2020 Release and later
    • Endpoint Standard (was CB Defense)

Cause

This issue is the result of a change in the October 2020 Carbon Black Console Release which now requires "Application(s) at path" policy rules to be separated by a new line instead of using commas to separate the application paths.

Resolution

At this time the action must be toggled every time an application is added, removed, or updated before saving an application path policy rule

Additional Information

Under the "Fixed Issues" section of the Release Notes, the change relating to commas in path name is referenced under DSER-26162
