Issue/Introduction
- Login attempts to some Windows endpoints hang on a black screen
- Drives on the endpoint can still be accessed via other methods
- memdumps may indicate a BSOD has occurred
Environment
- Endpoint Standard Sensor: 3.6.x
- Microsoft Windows 7 x64 SP1
Resolution
Downgrade affected endpoints to sensor version 3.5.x. This requires a re-install
- Uninstall the sensor https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Endpoint-Standard-How-to-Uninstall-Windows-Sensor/ta-p/65560
- Install 3.5 sensor
