Endpoint Standard: How to copy a rule to other policies

Issue/Introduction

This document provides information on how to copy policy rule(s) to other policies

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud (formerly PSC) Console: All Versions
  • Endpoint Standard
• Endpoint Standard Sensor: All Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
• Apple macOS: All Supported Versions

Resolution

1. Log into the CBC Console
2. Go to Enforce > Policies
3. Select the desired Policy
4. Click on the 'Prevention' Tab
5. Scroll down to the required rule, under either the 'Permissions', or 'Blocking and Isolation' sections
6. Click 'Copy Icon' above 'Add application path'
7. Select either 'All policies' or 'Select Policies'(list of existing policies appears when you click in the 'Search for a policy' box)
8. Click the 'Copy' button
9. The Rule will be added to your selected policies
10. A confirmation message will appear from the top of the screen, indicating the success of the rule copy action

Additional Information

• A rule can only be copied, once it has been created
• If a rule is being created with the intention of applying that same rule to other policies, it will need to be saved first, before applying the copy actions
