EDR: How to Download a Different Sensor Version From the Sensors Page

Issue/Introduction

Download a different sensor version if an older sensor version is needed

Environment

• EDR: 5.x and Higher

Resolution

 

1. Create a test group by selecting Sensors > Groups > New
2. Copy in the Server URL and any other settings from desired policy.
3. Under the Upgrade Policy, select the desired version to be tested under "Automatically upgrade to a specific version." 
4. Select Create Group
5. Verify that the newly created test group is selected in the sensor administration page
6. The sensor version will be available under Download Sensor Installer.

Additional Information

• The home page and sensor download page download the sensor version based off of the currently selected group in the sensor admin page
• Only the latest sensor version will be available if this is a new install
• Carbon Black recommends testing out the latest version before pushing it to an environment
